The project “Tracing Failing Archaeologies: Aesthetic Interrogations of Blemished Histories through a Poetic Chasing of Stray Winds Wafting East and Back Home” is a digital exhibition that will feature works of Bernard Akoi-Jackson. This project examines the modalities of African-Asian relations through an object or visual-centric approach by engaging with the dialectics of the textured pasts to reveal entangled histories of slavery in the Atlantic and Indian Ocean worlds.
Akoi-Jackson interrogates colonial encounters and hybrid post-colonial African identities through site-specific photo performances and walking art to ponder the complex histories of Ghana’s colonial pasts.
